CTC Coventry & CTC Rugby rides for the week beginning Sunday 17th March 2019

  • The next Tuesday show will be presented by Jill & Peter Seamen about their cycling tours in Majorca and Britanny. The show will take place at The Friends’ Meeting House, Hill Street, Coventry on Tuesday 19th March at 2000hrs and sadly is the last in this year’s series.
  • We are coming to the end of our current runs lists and are planning rides on Sundays and Tuesdays for the next quarter. Please have a look at our dynamic planning chart and fill in the details of rides you would like to lead – it can be a tried and tested route, or, if you’ve found a new café let’s give it a try. The all day ride normally stops for afternoon tea after the clocks go forward on 31st March, but if you fancy doing something slightly different that’s the leader’s decision. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered to lead rides already.
  • I know that I am always making this plea, but we are currently relying on a small number of leaders and we really need more members to take an active role in running the Club. So please, take the plunge and volunteer to lead a ride – there will normally be someone on hand to help, if necessary.
  • A spare place has become available on Alan Jelley’s Cotswold Tour from 12th to 15th April. Please email Alan if you would like to take up this opportunity. More information is available on our website.
  • On June 2nd we, CTC Coventry, are hosting one of Cycling UK’s Triennial Veteran’s 100-mile rides for riders over 50-years old. It may seem daunting to ride 100-miles, but it’s taken in easy stages and the comradery keeps everyone going and its always proved to be a very popular event in the past. Please have a look at our website to read more about it and to download the route and registration documents. There will be more information coming in the next few weeks, amongst which will be the usual plea for help with catering and generally running the event – it’s a great feeling at the end of a big event to know that you have been part of the team making it possible. So please keep Sunday 2nd June clear for riding or helping to run the event.
  • Vicky Palethorpe is organising a Ladies Summer Weekend Tour from 28th-30th June. More details are on our website. To book your place please email Vicky, or ring her on 077 222 71196.
