CTC Coventry & CTC Rugby rides for the week beginning Sunday 12th August 2018

Notices:

  • There is a Runs Meeting on Friday this week to complete the schedule of Tuesday and Sunday rides for the next quarter.
  • We are keen that as many people as possible are involved in the running of the Club and would be glad if you could let George Riches or me, Bob Tinley know, before the meeting, where you would like to take a ride and your available dates. If you have received links to our new planning sheets, the information can be filled in there.

Coventry Sunday 12th August

Rides meet at the War Memorial Park by the Park & Ride facility (SP 324 774) at 0915hrs.

  1. An easy paced ride will be led by Mike Thomas (024 7669 2792, 079 2903 8398) to Leamington, Victoria Park (SP 312 656) and back to War Memorial Park.The route to Leamington is via Baginton and Cubbington. We’ll stop briefly on the Campion Hills for a great view overlooking Leamington. From here to the café in Victoria Park the route is mainly off road. We continue off road into Warwick, and return to the Memorial Park via Leek Wootton Kenilworth. A total distance of 24 miles.View the route with Open Street Maps – showing tea stops.

  2. A longer ride will be led by Kevin Rourke (019 2641 9205, 075 9600 5829) to:
  • Wootton Wawen, The Cowshed (SP 158 631) for coffee after 20-miles, to
  • Offenham, Bridge Inn & Ferry (SP 050 458) for lunch at 40-miles, to
  • Stratford Greenway, Carriage 34644 Café (SP 195 538) for tea at 54-miles and return to
  • Memorial Park after a total of 75-miles.
  • Usually one of the regular riders will return home after coffee, so anyone who wants a slightly faster ride than the short ride is very welcome to join the longer ride and return home after coffee.

Coventry Tuesday 14th August

  • Meeting point: Brandon Marsh, Badgers Tea Room (SP 386 759) at 1045hrs.
  • At approximately 1130hrs Paul Morton will lead the ride 18-miles to lunch at Sapcote Garden Centre (SP 479 937). View the route with Open Street Maps – showing tea stops.View the route in Bike Hike – includes download facility.
  • The ride will return towards Brinklow after a total of 33-miles, with riders leaving the group when convenient.

Rugby Wednesday 15th August

  • The ride will meet at 0900hrs at Yelvertoft Village Hall (SP 594 758), riding to
  • East Farndon for coffee,
  • Tugby, Café Ventoux (SK 764 012) for lunch, and
  • Countesthorpe Garden Centre (SP 589 959) for tea
