The Special Celebratory Bar-b-Que is on May 16th at Fillongley, which was the destination for the Club’s very first ride in 1921. This will be one of the gastronomic highlights of the 100th birthday Celebration and an opportunity to sing ‘Happy Birthday‘ with a Centenary Birthday cake. The Bar-b-Que is the final event on the Triple Centenary Day.
As the first Social event of the Centenary year it is a fine chance to come together with your cycling friends, partners and families and eat high quality food in an informal and relaxed manner.
The venue is the Fillongley Village Hall Coventry Road Fillongley CV7 8EQ.
Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can set up tables and chair in the grass area behind the hall. In the event of inclement weather we will eat thr food inside the Hall
The food will be prepared by Kumar Ravinder who is the chef at Hearsall Golf Club, and has won many awards for his superb dishes. He will certainly make the food for the BBQ ‘special’.
There will be a choice of meats or vegetarian dishes, and a selection of delightful salads. For desserts there will be a choice of gateaux etc.
At the end of the meal we will invite (our President) to say a few words and then enjoy one of the highlights of the year by cutting the Centenary Birthday Cake
Tea, Coffee and Squash will be available at no charge. A range of Soft Drinks will be available at £1.
Members are welcome to bring something stronger if they wish.
