The Special Celebratory Bar-b-Que on May 16th at Fillongley (the destination for the Club’s very first ride back in 1921) will be one of the gastronomic highlights of the 100th birthday celebration and an opportunity to sing ‘Happy Birthday‘.
It follows on from riding on the Triple Centenary Day and offers a chance to socialise with your cycling friends, maybe share the occasion with your partners and families and eat high quality food in an informal and relaxed manner.
Date and Ticket Purchase Cutoff
The BBQ will take place in the afternoon of 16th May 2021 following the Triple Centenary Ride and Meriden Service.
The cutoff for purchasing tickets is Friday 7th May.
We will have use of the Village Hall, its grounds and its car park. The main building has both a Large hall and a Small hall with indoor tables and chairs which can be used in case of inclement weather.
Hopefully the weather will be good and we will be setting up in the Large field with our marquees / gazebos / tables / chairs and the gas Barbeque. The field can also be used for any activities.
Tea, Coffee and Squash will be available at no charge. A range of Soft Drinks will be available for purchase at a modest price.
Members are welcome to bring something stronger if they wish. (However please take care if you are cycling or driving afterwards)
Following the meal we will cut the Birthday Cake
The food will be prepared by Kumar Ravinder who is the chef at Hearsall Golf Club, and has won many awards for his superb dishes. He will certainly make the food for the BBQ ‘special’.
There will be a choice of meats or vegetarian dishes, and a selection of delightful salads. For deserts there will be a choice of gateaux etc.
